Beyond the Ark Update

A new season is approaching! We're only about three months away from tip off, and I’m getting ready to head into year 5 of Beyond the Ark!

I have some behind the scenes changes this offseason, so I wanted to give everyone a quick update on what’s new.

Beyond the Ark Is Officially a Business

One of the biggest changes this summer was taking the step of making Beyond the Ark an actual business and forming an LLC.

With that comes the goal of making the site a little more self sustaining. I’m going to start offering advertising space on the site, with the initial goal of bringing in enough money to cover the cost of running the website.

Once I can get to that point, I’d love to eventually take things a step further and run some low cost clinics, showcase type events, and other events.

I’ll be posting more about advertising opportunities as we get closer to the season, but if you’re interested in purchasing ad space on Beyond the Ark, please reach out!

A New Schedule Page

Another project I’ve been working on throughout the summer is a complete update to the schedule page.

The schedule has a new look, and more importantly, it now runs on code rather than me manually entering everything as text. I taught myself how to put this together through YouTube videos so I’ll admit I’m a little nervous about how everything will hold up once the season gets going. 

That said, I think the new version looks much cleaner and should make the schedule easier to navigate and update.

My biggest concern right now is response time, especially when we’re dealing with gyms that don’t always have the best cell reception. So, the first week or two of the season will probably be a little bit of trial and error as I see how everything performs in the real world.
